With the theme: "Solutions Innovation" we have challenged entrepreneur students to think and create a product that will solve a particular solution to a problem. With all those Stranger Things (Netflix series) inspired promotional materials, we want everyone to witness how ESS will turn the business world upside down with our unique and innovative products.

Last December 7 2017, the first ever product innovation challenge of ESS was held at PUP Charlie Building and the innovative products of our entrep students were presented at the said event. All the preparations was made possible with all the help of this event's committee Entrep 3-2. Participants of every sections made their best efforts to design for their booths.

After everything are all set, the event was officially started by our president Ms. Bea Angela Guevarra. She welcomed the judges and immediately introduced the first product to them. Our innovators have pitched their ideas to our well-esteemed judges: Mrs. Cresilda Bragas, Ms. Vanessa Quiroz, and Ms. Hazel Hyacinth Haygood and also ESS adviser Prof. Jerome P. Dumalao was present.

The first product was the Cheesy Choco Turon. It was conceptualized by Ms. Lovely Francisco and her group from Entrep 1-1. Cheesy Choco Turon is a mash-up of cheese stick and our classic turon merienda with chocolate dip. In the future, the team is planning on targeting students, and other schools as their market, and their goal is to be known outside our university. Job well done, Entrep 1-1!

The second product was Sweet Dynamite, it was solely thought by Mr. Alexander A. Lasam III from 2-1. It’s the perfect mixture of salty and sweet with a little bit of spicy in it. Despite of the generous amount of ingredients, everything is blending with each other. The judges were also shocked with how it tastes, they liked it.

Third on our list is Jackpack, a bag with a built-in water resistant jacket. This was made by a group from 4-2, led by Mr. Jerome Flores. They were inspired by the unpredictable weather in our country, and the amnesia-like problem of the students, when they forget their umbrellas at home. They have faced a lot of challenges before they were able to finalize the most efficient design. In the future, the team is planning on further developments like the sizes of the bags and the jackets.

The fourth product that was pitched in the event

was OG (On-the-go Grocery). It is an app that allows people who have limited time, like single moms to shop their groceries with just few clicks. Ms. Divine Joy D. Albania from 3-1 was inspired by the conversation she overheard in a public train, she thought that applications like this that are available locally are overpriced, so with the help of her team they are currently developing the app.

The fifth on our list is Bagable, a portable chair in the form of a bag. You can bring it anywhere with you, especially in places where there’s no vacant seat, or too crowded, maybe you’re too tired on a parade? These are only some of the reasons why Ms. Rachel Pomarejo and her team from 4-2 came up with this idea. It was a challenge for them to design a stable leg, but they were able to solve it after few trial ideas. In the future, the team are planning on reaching their target market through different promotions.

Next is Just in Case, a cellphone case built with a hidden detachable pockets which can be filled

with common girl stuff, like makeup or money. Ms. Moie Mojado from 4-2 was inspired from his dad’s cellphone case which can be transformed into a selfie stick. They noticed how girls often bring only two to three things in the bathroom, a wallet or small makeup kit and their phones, so they thought ‘Why not make it one?’ with the help of her team, they conceptualized and created the idea and Just in Case was born.

The seventh product presented in the event was the Umbrelight. Ms. Marygel A. Munar and her team came up with this idea because of the common problem where it can be really dark when it’s raining, and a lot of accidents happen because of this. They thought of a solution where everyone wouldn’t have to hold a flashlight on their hand, instead the team put waterproof led lights inside the umbrella. They’re planning on producing more in the future and put them in malls, or online to reach their target market.

Eighth on our list is Magic Backpack Organizer. Mr. Kyle Kadusale and his team from 3P-1, found the cure to everyone’s sickness: A MESSY BACKPACK. Seriously, some here may even be guilty for having a two-week old trash inside their backpacks, from scratch papers to candy wrappers. The team noticed this problem, and designed an efficient solution. In the future, the team is planning on producing more, with variations in design and sizes.

Last but not the least, the ninth group to pitch their product is Leami (Li-ya-mi). It’s a convertible, stylish and trendy bag that is perfect for any big or small occasions. Mr. Christian Gonzales and his friends came up with this idea because they always go out, and depending on their date, they sometimes need a big bag, sometimes a small bag. Leami can be a backpack, body bag and a string bag. You can have different styles of bag, within just one. Soon, the team will produce more Leami Bags, and distribute it to different channels.

Congratulations to every person who participated to this event. Job well done, everyone! You have started your journey, you were capable of innovating solutions for our world’s problems and you made it happen. You are an Entrepreneur, you have lit the fire, now it’s time to build your empire!
